Influential Singers
There are so many marvelous singers on this planet, far too many for me to recognize. This Gallery simply pays homage to those whose music and vocal stylings have had a significant impact on me over the years as I searched for my own voice. (You can click on the photos to enlarge them.)

Vinyl Art - Just for the Fun of It!
I have been a serious audiophile (that's a sophisticated way of saying Record Junkie) for the better part of my life. I started taking care of my first records at about 10 years old... A lot has changed since then! Fortunately, there is a resurging interest in vinyl (although many will argue that vinyl never really left) and new manufacturers are popping up around the world... The 5-and-a-half inch, napkin-sized CD booklet has never really compared to the amazing photos, illustrations, and unique packaging of LP's (sometimes 45's) and was often as important to the album concept as the recording itself... I have maintained a nice collection over the years. This gallery features some pretty interesting, fun, and just plain odd covers from my collection. Many of these are not available on CD and may never been seen again. Check back occasionally as I'll add more... just for the fun of it! (You can click on the photos to enlarge them.)

Viva Mexico!
I had developed a passion for Latin American culture by the early 80’s, but my life changed dramatically after my first visit to “real” Mexico a few years ago. As our calendar is split by B.C./ A.D., I now view my life as having split “Before Mexico… After Mexico.”
I traveled with a longtime friend to his pueblo in Veracruz and stayed with his family for two weeks. I met one of his sisters, Andrea, and upon my return to the states, we began a friendship via daily email and phone calls. That trip resulted in me returning to visit Andrea five more times over the next year. We had fallen in love and chose to marry in Acapulco by the end of 2006. After getting married, we endured a full year of separation while working through the labyrinth of the immigration process. Andrea and daughter Karen joined me in the U.S. in September '07 (Andrea’s oldest daughter Jery remains with her grandparents in Mexico…) This Gallery highlights some photos I’ve taken in my beloved Mexico since that first visit. The Largo Band of Gold - Robert R. Cotter, Director 1968-1980
Directed by the late, great Robert R. Cotter between 1968-1980, the Largo, Florida, High School Band of Gold was one of the most successful public high school marching and concert band programs in the history of the United States. Cotter made an enormous impact on the lives of hundreds of students and the communities where he lived and served. I was one of the privileged students to have had Cotter as my music teacher and a life mentor. Read the story on my 'blog, news' page and listen to musical highlights at the bottom of my 'one hour of music' page.
